I do the same thing, Clue. Or if they are too soiled, I just feed them to the dogs. A little chicken poo is a condiment to them, lol.I use a dry paper towel to wipe off any specks of dirt, but quickly rinse mildly dirty eggs. Those with pooh build up, get a wet paper towel, folded up, and placed over the pooh spot, long enough to soften it, so it can be wiped clean. All my eggs get a quick dip in a mild Oxine solution, before going into the incubator. A mild bleach water solution works too.
Spring has definitely arrived. Temps in the 70s most days although they are calling for thunderstorms tonight then a couple of cool days.
DH gets me moving in the morning by letting the pups in. They are a riot and have come so far in a short week of being with us. I'm in the midst of putting things away that they can get to. The puppy equivalent of baby proofing the house. This morning they discovered that if they stand up on their hind legs, they can grab more stuff off the coffee table and end tables in the TV room. Just when you think you have things cleared off enough......I told DH that they tell me what I need to clean off next. Today, it's gathering magazines and books up. DH ordered gaffers tape to tape down cords, followed by bitter apple spray. I had put all of my quilt project in a plastic tote and cardboard box. Cardboard box became a target instantly. Need bigger tote. One pup discovered the plastic Easter Egg holder I have as a decoration. I'm still hunting down plastic eggs. Those things scatter like ping pong balls. Belts off robes? Yeah, those are instant targets.
Our Dingo ate a sofa the first week after we found him at our house when we first came to Missouri. We had an old van bench seat that we had put in the garage for them to lie on while we were at work. Came home at noon for lunch and it was all over the back yard. Literally. Foam chunks everywhere. When we went into the garage, all that was left was a metal frame. Dingo had a very satisfied look on his face.
Just when I think I have a handle on puppy proofing, I remember....Dingo ate a sofa. We have 5 Dingos now.....not enough sofas.....

DH told me last night that he hasn't seen me this happy in a long time. I told him, I guess I was happy in spite of my health problems. How can you not be happy when you have 5 little hellions wrecking your house in gleeful abandon? I told him I was just so happy that we had saved their little souls from a horrible fate and yes, and we had both taken losing Dingo so hard and well, God must be telling us that we are going to be around and able to take care of the dogs for the next 12-15 years so what's not to be happy about?
Life is good.
Plans for today, harvest wood, teach pups their names, puppy proof the house, clean baby fayoumi chicks....another busy day in store.
