The Old Folks Home

Okay. So went to the dermatologist and had some blobs electro-cauterized off my nose and some broken capillaries and veins zapped on my face. I was told they would crust up. And, boy, did they! I look like rather leper-ish. Any idea how long this will take to heal? I'm grounded as I don't want to scare anyone, which is okay as I have stuff around here to do.
Oh..not sure about something that crusties up...but I had a pre cancer on my nose frozen about a couple of years back. Told it would...bubble up. Yep. Didn't take long for that to go down...a few days. Then, it did scab a bit. Not much though. Any kind of scab seems to take at least a week. And yes, I hid too..but..I Don't run into any of you. I'll share a photo. Funny thing. Kids drove us around that day to do things..I stayed in the car..until..they said, let's have some lunch. I said, ok, but I better not run into anyone I know. Son says, mom..not going to happen. Well...walk into the door.. ..a sub place... there's our next door neighbor's! I put my hand up hiding my nose. Told her what I had done, she says, oh..I've had that done, so I know. Went ahead and put my hand down. Small world, especially where I live. So here it is, actually got bigger!

Prayers sent that all goes to plan and you are safely home and recovering in no time!

See, told you that you could do it!

Yeah @ronott1, it sure is. I'm amazed by how much food I am saving. My 'chicken chores' usually take about 30 minutes now with the 4 pens of broodies and chicks but I only have 10 new chicks and the Fayoumi's added to the list. I haven't counted beaks but I think the number is somewhere between 30 and 40 now. I was going through 50 pounds of feed in about 5 days and now I still have over a half of a bag left and it's been 10 days since I've opened the last bag.

And while I was getting about 1.5-2 dozen eggs a day, I'm now getting 6.Perfect! I'd love to get the Fayoumis blended in with the main coop. I have the gate open between the pens and they are visiting back and forth but want to sleep in their own coop at night. My little rooster Cowboy is in with them and quite happy being daddy bird. He's a bit of a doofus so I don't know where he is going to wind up roosting. I wish I could get him in with the bachelors but they are pretty tough on him due to him being, well, a Doofus. But he's so cute I keep him around.

Got the garden hoed yesterday, need to do a bit more work there but they are calling for more rain tonight. At least the ground isn't saturated anymore.
When I wen down to 6 from whatever I had before, The work load and feed bills were amazingly low!

And I still get plenty of eggs.

The quail from the Easter hatch are starting to lay eggs now. Soon I will have to process males and see about getting the new ones integrated with the older ones

It does not look as bad as the one removed from the 92 year old neighbor!

I am happy to hear that you had it removed and it was pre cancer and not cancer

I think a 92 year old still cares about her appearance but, doesn't care what others think.
She is still very sharp so you are likely correct! She holds her own in scrabble playing against my DW

I had to look up nose cancer after this. Good grief! Some of the photos! :th. Bless their hearts.
When I worked for Safeway in Corning years ago, a Customer had nose or nasal cancer. He did not have a nose and did not have a prosthetic!

It took some getting used to and I will leave it at that....:sick
