The Old Folks Home

You’ve done research in this! I’ve just never heard of anyone growing pomegranates, here or in Massachusetts or Connecticut, where I’ve also lived. Seems it would take some special handling. Like maybe a greenhouse! Could happen, I suppose. I don’t know where she is in Maine.
It is not likely but I thought Redding Ca was the furthest north palm trees grew. There are new cultivars that grow much further north now.

Pomegranates are possible but not likely

I didn't plant the tree. The ducks likely did not plant it either as they have been in a different area and only moved to this area maybe 3 years ago at the most. It's in the woods so I think the birds planted it. I think it's 2 years the ducks have been there but years run together for me. I think it was there when we cut down the cedars and that caused it to finally get some light.
I planted some dwarf heirloom apple trees a number of years ago but they haven't grown in size at all and this is not one of those.
It is tall maybe 20 feet and thin and spindly. It rained pretty heavy a few weeks ago and since then it's been bowed over and into the duck run which is why I happened to notice it.
Some of the fruits are in clusters more than two.
I am in central Maine by Augusta

Yes. I saw those. But the Stark trees grow to Zone 7, and the fast-growing trees “can be moved inside in a pot” in Zones 3-5. I’m not sure what zone she is in, but I doubt it’s 7!

Technically I’m in Zone 5, but at our (modest) elevation and location in the foothills of the Green Mountains, it’s mighty cold for long periods in the winter. A northern exposure or other factors will push you right into Zone 4. They ski at Killington into June many years!

Watched episode 3 of season 3 "Stranger Things," on Netflix. Think I need to watch early in the day, so I won't be afraid to sleep at night.
I have watched one episode so far but it was not too scary yet. Thanks for the warning on the rest of them
