The Old Folks Home

I had decided on the fridge I wanted, and I knew it would fit in the space, but had to measure twice to make sure there was enough clearance for the doors to open. It fit perfectly. No room to spare, but not too tight.

I like my stove/oven, but I can't say I love it. The stove is a good one, and for a sealed glass top, it works better than most, but a good coil burner stove is still better as to being a more stable heat source. Now that I've learned to use my oven, I do like it better than the older coil type ovens. To be honest, I wanted a gas range, but Dh was against it, so I had to settle for electric.

I have a high BTU Propane Stove.... LOVE it. Five burners... one oven with a broiler on the bottom. I can set a pot any where on it without it tipping too .... So if I want to water bath can I can put it right in the middle and still have room for another smaller pot. I havent tried my pressure canner yet... or my water bath... Yet... I am just ready now.

Hmmm Now that grandma is gone I could give it a try now.... I could make some Canned Fruit... Hmmm... But Her stove is barely working... I guess if it boils water I could still water bath can.

Anything with acid or sugar right?.... Have to get my book out...

deb Oh and the Dog got me up silly girl.... Wanted to go outside. She has a doggy door but needs someone to hold her hand before she will go out... Then she wanted to play a little. Big goof ball.

I purposefully don't have a smartphone, just a talk-and-text model that I often forget to turn on (much to folks' dismay.) Who needs other people's portable drama? Computer time is limited to a cup of coffee in the morning and then when DH is doing dishes at night.

Not spending a whole lot of time looking in the rearview mirror of family history as I prefer to keep my memories on the pleasant side.

Peaches are coming in (three trees ripening at different rates), so lots of canning going on. Batches of ginger peach jam from one tree. Canned peaches from another. One tree I donate to family, friends, neighbors and senior lunch program.

Chard and chile peppers are abundant this year. Been enjoying the eggplant, too. DH is reaping the benefits of all the healthy stuff I'm plying him with. He's the oldest yet healthiest of his siblings with low cholesterol, good bp, and least amount of meds in the system. Sadly, fiber is not the cure-all for an aging prostate.

We've got a coyote lounging under our grape hedge. Thought there were a few less bunnies about, and also spotted a couple of rabbits with odd wounds.

Anyway, about done with the morning coffee and the garden beckons.
Enjoy the glorious day! Keep it on the sunny side!

Currently at Cracker Barrel with my mom. Haven’t been to this place in forever. I love Cracker Barrel. So I’m glad we came here haha

I am literally starving because I woke up at like 7:30 and never went back to sleep and haven’t eaten yet either.

I could probably eat my body weight in food right now. :lau
