The Old Folks Home

Oh, and the nurse called me to say my liver enzymes are elevated, possibly due to Lyme and /or other tick borne illnesses! WHAT?

Not unusual in Lyme disease. Your liver and kidneys are working overtime to clear out the toxins from the dead bacteria. Rheumy told us that they don't get concerned until the results are twice what they should be. I know you drink a lot of water but as I was told.....drink more and stay close to a wee wee room.

If you are willing to try some homeopathic treatments, you can google 'liver cleanse'. Milk thistle is the one I took.

Yes there are a lot of 'companion' infections that ticks can carry. I've read that usually if they test for them a person who has Lyme will have at least one other.

This is a partial list: Lyme borreliosis, anaplasmosis, babesiosis, Powassan virus, and B. miyamotoi infection.

Babesiosis is the most common that a person with Lyme might also have and there is a test for it. Trying to remember but I think the antibiotic of choice is Azithromycin in a Z pack.

You might want to ask your doc to test you for Babs. People also told me to go on a 'good carb' diet and stick with it. Sugar's can feed inflammation.

Thanks @KDOGG331. Any day spent above ground is a good day! It's more than a saying, it's a goal when you reach a certain age.;)

Yep, @drumstick diva we had a patient tell us once that if he known when he was younger that he was going to live to a ripe old age he would have taken better care of himself in his youth!:gig

Words to live by but we seem not to.

Did the nurse realize you already have Lyme? That sounds like it could be a generic statement about possible causes of elevated liver enzymes.
Well she should have it in the file, but no telling for sure.

That’s a good point! Ha

And I should probably take advice from that guy and start taking care of myself :lau :hide

Did have some rotisserie chicken from Market Basket for lunch though along with vegetables from my garden. :D just some summer squash and that cucumber but still. Of course I kinda basically fried them in olive oil :hide but still better than no vegetables I guess. And most of the cucumber I ate raw but wanted to try a few slices in the oil. Nowhere near as good as the squash though haha anyway, I don’t put any breading or anything on it, just heat up the oil hot and brown it on both sides in a fry pan, so not really sure it could be called fried? But still should probably steam them or bake them or something next time haha but for now it’s good. Cucumber was good. Pretty watery/flavorless though. But good. Put a bit of cranberry sauce on the chicken too ha

Worst there Cap did they read the file.. been going to my Dr like 8 years about a year ago went in had 3 pm appointment go in dark glasses I wear all the time .. she makes a note, subject in dark glasses inside the ones I wear are not polarized I see if there is any light of any kind in them I am that sensitive. Full dark I do have clear then I wear a hat to protect outside

I had decided on the fridge I wanted, and I knew it would fit in the space, but had to measure twice to make sure there was enough clearance for the doors to open.
Speaking of large refrigerators, have we heard from @The Farmers' Daughter lately?

There is a cracker Barrel in Sacramento now.
There was one in South Burlington, but it closed. Never went there nor any other so I have NO idea what y'all are talking about.

Finally got a look at my MRI results. :hitis all I can say at this point. Worse than I expected.
:hugs
You've got a good attitude about this. Not sure I could.

Oh and I forgot... French toast.... My favorite is made with sourdough bread. The sourer the better.... ... for dinner that is... but any time for me...
We have been doing sourdough garlic bread Saturday nights followed by sourdough French toast Sunday morning. Buy the loaf at the Farmer's Market Sat morning.

Cracker Barrel is great, been there many times over the yrs and we've never been disappointed. Whenever we go to Binghamton about 45mins away we stop there couple times a yr maybe. The burgers are huge and awesome, reubens are great, their chicken fried steak is actual cubed steak (Denny's and many other is not..more like tv dinner whats that??)
I kinda got bored of their menu one time and ordered fried chicken livers fried okra pinto beans and collard greens DW about burst out laughing, really? Yeah, something different, and it was all great.
Been there breakfast many times also and I'm not into pancakes but when the kids were little usually I cleaned up their plates. I'm not sure what they do with the pancakes, lay real butter thick on the flat top and deep fry them in it or what but the darndest best tasting pancakes I've ever had.
