The Old Folks Home

Same here Cynthia. Our property is hilly. I can usually trot up and down them like a goat but when my blood count dropped I was having to stop and rest a couple of times making my way up the smallest rise.

With the anemia caused by methotrexate, I was advised to use the B complexes along with B12. Did they help? My blood count stayed normal for 8 months before slipping and I was religious about taking it. I also had a cherry flavored B12 sublingual that tasted better but when I showed it to my rheumy, he said no, stick with the Solgar.

One of the reasons I like this doctor is that he passes on where to find supplements that he recommends at the best price. Surprisingly enough I find most of them at Amazon.

Made it back home but town says water line broke in town had to shut off the main line this has been ongoing the last 3 days what seems to be the big problem
I hope they get it fixed for you soon!

Summer is back here. Close to 90 today and humid. I just came in from taking care of the birds and I feel like a wrung out dish cloth. Also culled a rooster tonight. I hated to do it but he was getting mean. Several times I caught him trying to mount and mate one of my Cochin/bantam cross roosters who is too slow and stupid to get out of his way. I've caught the molester rooster in the act often enough that he's learned to keep out of my way but tonight while swapping out cages-putting a hen with two chicks in a bigger pen and a hen with one chick in their pen, one of the 3-4 week old chicks got away from me and ran around in a panic. When the rooster saw it, it was immediately down from the roost bar and caught the baby in a corner, grabbed it by the back of it's neck and tried to put a foot on it's back. I got baby without it being hurt but that was the last straw. Rooster took a one way trip to the woods. He was too old to butcher so I left him for the vultures and wildlife. I have too many really sweet boys to put up with a ....well, you know what.

@penny1960 what are you doing for water for your critters and family?

We had 98° here today, idk what the feel like temp was, but danged hot. I cut a hole in each end of the hoop coop for more air flow. Installed a window on one end, the other opens up into the run.

I went to plug in the fan in the coop and......nothing. Hmmmm. Something had been popping the coops circuit and I bet that was it. I'll have to take it down and bring it in for DH to check out. In the mean time I apologized to the birds and offered them little hand fans.....my birds gave me the bird....:tongue

I did laundry yesterday and hung it out on the clothesline to dry around 1pm. I expected it to be dry by evening. Nope. Humidity was too high so I left it up, thinking it would be dry once the sun came up to bake out the night dew plus the clothes would smell wonderful from the airing out.

Got up this morning to thunder. I ran outside to grab clothes off the line and they were as wet as they were last evening.....now they are soaked. But on the bright side, the rain water will soften them further and if they ever dry they will smell like fresh rain!

There really is a silver lining to those storm clouds.....unless the wind blows your clean clothes into the next county that is......
