I have the moulting birds, but no fall colors ywt which is just fine with me! Won't be long now though.
Leaves are falling off the trees here due to drought. And I saw a big flock of geese fly by today.

I've been seeing feather snow drifts in the corners of the coop for the past two weeks. Our weather is frankly strange, hot, now cooler than usual. We had lows in the 50s last night and 70s for the high today. The birds seem to be predicting an early fall. Along with the chickens molting, the Jenny Wrens, Carolina Wrens, Robins, and Phoebes have disappeared. Not so many bird songs in the morning either.

We finally have the wood mostly done. DH and I went out this morning and harvested a downed limb off of a big oak tree. Just cannot pass up a 10 inch limb in good condition. We also had a small Honey locust to chain and bring back to the barn. We will probably use it for overnight keeper logs in really cold weather.Nothing burns hotter than locust.

SGC great work on the quilt. That is a wonderful memorial for Latestarter.
