One of our Faculty has an oxygen machine for her Father. PGE said that they could not help with thatAgreed!! Lol
Oh no! That’s terrible. My nana has oxygen... makes me wonder what people on oxygen and such do when they shut it off!?
X2!!!
i believe you have hit the nail on the head with both statements. Same thing with quitting an addiction.
We didn't have any peaches at all this year. 7 mature trees and no peaches. The spring weather was perfect. Cool and wet but unfortunately it was their 'off' year. Millions of blooms but not one flippin peach. I really had my mouth set for peach jam. We have one Alberta peach and the rest are heirlooms. Small fruit about the size of a large apricot but they make the best jam.....or wine.
Only 4 of the apple trees were productive. Two were on their off years but still gave us some fruit. The other two were loaded although the Arkansas black really outdid itself this year. Stupid tree was so fruit heavy it pulled itself over and was almost flat on the ground. DH drove in two posts this morning and used bruit force to pull it back up semi straight. We are going to work on it more after the rain and see if we can't tamp the ground down around it. Our orchard is over what used to be an old corral. The Loam is very rich and very fine. Almost a point of being too fertile.
KDOGG, nothing unusual about your meal. I usually eat a serving of chicken or fish and the rest in veggies. The only starches I eat with a meal is either a small baked potato or a serving of corn grits.....love them both especially the grits.
I can't believe they don't put people with medical conditions on high priority for power. Sounds like a law suit waiting to happen to me and frankly, can't blame em. Our power has gone out once in 8 years and that was this spring during a storm. Called it in. They said, yep, we are working on it. Linemen are there now. Sure enough 10 minutes later, power back on. Only ones who didn't notice were the Amish....business as usual for them, LOL.![]()

Maybe. But addiction to opioids makes actual physiological changes in the brain, making “just say no” [willpower] fall far short of what is needed.
Okay. I forgot I am retired. Getting off the soapbox before I cause more trouble.
To be fair to the power company, they are trying to keep thousands of acres from burning down again this year...
And didn’t they have a lawsuit last year because of some faulty equipment contributing to one of those huge fires?
I don’t like monopolies any more than the next gal, but preventing devastating fires that ruin forests, communities, homes, and kill firefighters and others seems like a pretty good goal.
I guess I’m the contrarian (or curmudgeon?) today. To make up for it, here’s a photo from the little window by my bed. Fall in Vermont!View attachment 1930558

PG&E declared bankruptcy after Paradise burned down. They are excoriated for fires caused by downed lines and they are excoriated for turning the power off so those fires don't happen. Lose or lose, take your choice.
Crazy
I think the point is you have to WANT to stop the addiction and get help to do so. "Just say no" only works for some.Maybe. But addiction to opioids makes actual physiological changes in the brain, making “just say no” [willpower] fall far short of what is needed.
