The Old Folks Home

A quick note to tell you all I am still alive. Packing the house up with just my stuff. Getting started for the move sometime After January. Some of my sons stuff will go with me as well to put it in storage.

He wants to sell the house so that is in the plans too. Grandma gave him her house. The paper work isnt done yet.

I have some work that needs to be done as well at my house. I need to get the drive graded. I dont think a moving van would make it past the first turn... big ruts.

Nice! You will be moving back to your place. Things are getting much better for you

It can be quite a process!

Is He going to behavioral therapy too?
He went for a couple of months... but they said there is nothing else they can do... :idunno

Because his coping skills are great... at this point it is just retaining stuff he isn't excited about...

All ours are just a little older than that but low miles and didn't cost much. Prob here is the crazy amount of salt they get bathed in every winter, I think NY is the worst state for rust.
I don't like the newer cars, oldest dd bought a '06 Impala good deal cheap no rust low miles guy knocked 500 off it cause he wanted to get bad gas pedal sensor changed and I told him I'd do it. Only cost $35 but was the whole pedal assembly all plastic, two bolts bolt it to firewall, one electrical connection finishes it off... No throttle cable, just wires and sensors...pedal sensor tells throttle body sensor what to do... What's so wrong with a throttle cable?? Never seen one go bad...
That is true.... the new cars with all of their computer stuff is pretty bad.

I once had a momma cat who had been bred by her brothers. She was less than a year old when I adopted her. I figured she would only have two or three kittens... Nope she had four.... Momma cat was a very dark Tortoiseshell, some people would say calico.

One kitten was just like momma only with a long coat. She had no meow only a little raspy squeek. we had to make sure she didnt get locked in a room because you couldnt hear her meow.

Lights burning out around the house, because of Vertigo, I can't climb on chair or anything else to replace them. Have to wait for son to come for the holidays.
Can't find some neighbor to help?

DD we changed to LED light bulbs. They go on sale on occasion and are bunches cheaper to run. I think they are 75 watts. I do believe that they have a longer life than the regular incandescent bulbs also.
I won't buy anything else now. They will last WAY longer than an incandescent and you can buy them up to 100W equivalent but using about 1/5 the electricity. They come in various "temperatures". I won't buy anything less that 3,000, lower is too yellow. 5,000 is white like the full moon on a dark night.

Looks like something out of Vermont Life.
Which folded June last year :( DW used to get a pocket calendar every year for Xmas.

Maybe he just has fat fur:idunno
I had an Angora cat that looked big ... until she had a bath. Probably only weight 8 pounds and wet she looked like a drowned rat.

Maine Coons are sweethearts, at least the ones I’ve met. Siamese, not always!
TRUE! My mother had a friend that had 2. MANY years ago we went to visit them at their So. Cal. beach house during the week they had it rented. One of the cats would come over for pets, would purr loud enough for the neighbors to hear and when she was done would swipe you with her claws and walk of still purring. She only got to do that to me ONCE.

I don't know that it is true but, have been told a Himalayan is a Persian crossed with Siamese? I know they are very beautiful cats though.

Thanks DD!! That makes sense!! It would be interesting to find out the history of some of these breeds. Maybe I will Google more haha Ragdoll is a Himalayan cross right? Wonder what they crossed it with?

Wow they are all so gorgeous!! And so different looking!! I wonder if they had different fathers? I know it is possible for litters to have multiple fathers and result in very different looking litter mates. At least in dogs. Not sure about cats.

Hate to see all these companies, stores, magazines, papers, etc. going out of business. :(

:lau that’s how Luna is too!! She’s only around 9 pounds and quite a small cat, small frame, etc. but very very fluffy and poofy looking. I’ve given her bath a couple times and she really does look like a drowned rat. :lau :gig :lau

That must have hurt! Those cats are HUGE! Their paws must be like bobcat or lynx paws. :lau
