You mean real locally made and fresh as opposed to Mission packaged?
No... Street taco tortillas they are very small. Though there are a few local Tortilla rilla factories in town. I do have a tortilla press... and will venture into that later on when i try my hand at Tamalies.... I believe its the same dough ingredient. Masa .... I have to research that a bit...

Tortillas are very simple and quick to make... You can make a few or what ever you need...

Ok but why would you want to? :lau:lau:lau:lau:lau:lau
Bwhaahahah.... They are VEry pickeldy and the skin is good and the meat is yummy and the bones... well ... the fat and cartillage is good too. Plus the gelatin around them is very yummy too...

Plus I never had them other than in jars from Hormel... They have since "sanitized them" removing most of the bones and cartillage... and meat.

Plus if I dont like them I can toss a whole jar in when I am making bone broth... Win Win.

Ahhhhh...real Hispanic food! Last time I had it was almost 45 years ago in New Mexico. They served Navajo Fried Bread with it and fresh honey!:drool

Not available around here although they do have some nice Mexican Restaurants around.

Now I'm going to have to dig up my fried bread recipe.....

Choyote can be cooked two ways.... Sweet or Savory... Found a couple of good sites with info... But I may try adding it to my possiblities for growing at home.... One plant can provide fifty pounds. Its in the same family s squash and gourds. with a single seed in the middle.

You cut in half along the fold seam on the end Scoop the seed and the white pith out.... Some people then peel it and slice it and prepare it the way they like... Some people leave the skin on and cook it whole

One of the informative videos:

A Pourto Rican Recipe :drool

all parts of the plant are edible.... I need to research that as well.

Tampa, for years was renown for it's hand rolled Cuban cigars, as well as it's Cuban, and Spanish restaurants, and food. Mexican restaurants have not been around here as long. Due to such a large Latino population, it's been commonplace for years for the grocery stores to carry a huge selection of ingredients, and items that are usually hard to come by in other areas. In addition, there are quite a few Latino grocery stores. I have a list of various ingredients I send in "care packages" to other family members living in other parts of the US. We have a large Asian community as well, and they too have several large grocery stores, making it easy to get a good selection of ingredients, and items used in preparing, and eating good Asian food.
