The Old Folks Home

I have to say that besides M&Ms, my very favorite candy is York Peppermint Patties. Pop them in the freezer, pull one out on a hot day....pure taste bud bliss!

I love peppermint patties

Nice selection! Cochins come in so many colors! Wyandottes are the same way and do better up here (tiny comb and clean feet)

Actually... Leghorns also seem to come in all colors. But somehow I only have white and dark brown... and those 2 colors mixed. I really wanted the Isabella color... but it was too hard to find good ones. Anyway, I like what I have.

What is your favorite Cochin color?
I love the mottled!

Well guess I will be looking for more Cochin then now need to find but only big ones

Hey @bruceha2000 -

How is DSL? We have satellite, and it’s terrible and very expensive. Would you recommend DSL? It’s our only other option. (Cable is 3/10 mile away, which seems so short but not for this! Fiber-optic is about a mile away.). Sigh. I love Vermont.
Usually stable. We are up to 15 Mbps now, was only 7 for the first few years. They needed new hardware to upgrade. Very annoying when you called every few months and no one knows if/when they planned to do that. The cost is about $120/month for phone, unlimited Long Distance, internet and taxes. The internet is $54 of that. We only have the option of Consolidated Communication (which bought Fairpoint about a year ago). No cable anywhere near here. Fiber-optic? :gig :lau

We have a local but not internet they have a deal with dish tv we pay 140.29 a month with senior discounts :he:thwe have three computers on most days and the phones 3 of them set to our wifi so do go through quite a bit the Son and I play allot on the phones online :tongue

I must say after having Sweetpea I totally understand why Delawares were once used as meat birds… :lau :hide She is huge LOL I can’t even imagine how big a rooster from the breed would be or a properly bred heritage bird from a breeder and not a hatchery. :ep :th

I hear you, Penny. When you get your new body order one for me too!

Just got back from the rheumy. He looked me over, checked my hands, read my MRI and told me that the final diagnosis is possible gout, but definitely a hereditary form of osteoarthritis with an inflammatory factor in it of some sort. It's all through my body. No treatment. No more Methotrexate as my response to it was not good, no more Allopurinol.

That which does not kill me makes me stronger.

He urged me to keep up my diet, keep active and keep going. I don't have to go back for 4 months.

All in all I'm happy. I told him I wasn't after perfect but better and I was definitely better so lets leave well enough alone. He's a good guy and agreed with me. Said that when the day came that I couldn't manage the pain any longer with what I was doing then we would do injections into my spine. Cool...hopefully I will be somewhere in my 90's by then and not care.:gig
