The Old Folks Home

Got my tetanus shot today. Weird really. I went to the pharmacy first to pick up prescriptions and they handed me my vaccine. I kinda did a 'huh?' and they said, yeah, this was the way they had to do it in order to get my Part D insurance to pay for it. Still had to pay $41 out of pocket for it. I mean geesh, what a freaking racket! It's a preventative medical care like flu shots and whatever. So will I get charged again by the doctor's office? We shall see.

Anyway, did some general errand running and got home at a half way reasonable time. It was a beautiful Indian Summer day until around 4:30 when the wind switched around to the north and picked up. About the time we started getting some fall color, the wind strips the leaves from the trees. Oh well, always next fall to look forward to.

Hubby cut down some trees where my new garden space will be, what a difference! It will also give the pear trees more light. I planted 2 Camellia bushes today and some other plants that have been sitting around in pots.
Got one side of the run put together, the pallets for the bottom section. The top part will be a different type of pallet, covered with wire.

Isn’t that the way it goes? How many autumns have been like that. Due to drought patterns, our fall colors were so-so in 2018. But this year was spectacular!

Well back from new Doc visit it will be fine we chatted for two hours
I love it when you can do that with a doc. Today the doctor actually called me back to the treatment room and then turned me over to the nurse. He asked me if I could stand him calling me back and I told him to give me a minute, I'd have to think about it...then cracked up laughing. I'd never met this doctor before. We had a good laugh which is a plus for me when dealing with any doctor.

I would urge you not to do that. Someone in the future is going to come across that old barbed wire and likely get hurt because they won't see it. I keep coming across really rusty downed barbed wire, at least it is running what used to be an old fence line.
Yup have to agree... because it happened to me. Have a nice scar across my thigh... and ripped my school pants too. Parents not too happy about pants until I asked for help to deal with flesh wound.

TWO HOURS??

The last time I saw my primary, she was m aking noises that the appointment had gone on too long.... at the 20-25 minute mark. SO m uch for an annual visit. Will go back to just sick visits , which is almost never, and to HE...LL with the free annual.

Nice you have a doc that actually cares.

October was extra rainy here-- every other day it seemed to rain. Now the cold has arrived, one good frost earlier in the week and a hard frost forcasted for Friday/ Sat/Sunday. No snow though.

WIth the frost most of the plants have quit and died off; kale and scallions going strong and the been greens, and mustard. Hardy stuff those!!

Ron, those fires scare me to death.. Cant watch the news, tears at my heart for all of you trying to cope with the risk and the devastation. Makes me think about what a person can do to change these weather patterns.

Getting too warm here over the last 8 years; and too cold. Get wilder weather patterns, and windier storms.
