Ah that has to be tough to loose a flock like that do not care where, who or how it stinks major

Yeah, yeah, yeah, and DH and I said no more 'new' dogs after we lost Dingo and Lucy a month apart in Dec and January.
I also had a friend who said 'no more kids' after kid #3. Then a year and a half later kid #4 came along.
Face it, KDOGG, the common word is 'oops' and you just doomed yourself.
2 degrees when we woke up this morning. It is just flippin cold outside. Bundled up, went out to check the chickens. They are fine. No worries. Just scratchin around the coop being chickens but happy for the slice of bread and generous scratch grains I scattered around to give them something to dig around for.
Got word yesterday that the friend who ordered my Fayoumis for me this spring lost all of his birds to a weasel attack. It makes me a bit paranoid and wanting to go out and make sure there are no easy 'ins' to the coop that haven't been dealt with already. Such a waste. He had some lovely birds.

@KDOGG331, I've had three fish ponds in the past. I've designed and and dug all of them myself. Two were concrete, one was liner. No wait, correction. 4 ponds. The one I forgot was a preform. I LOVE ponds, well for that matter, I LOVE ponds and aquariums. I used to raise freshwater Angels and Shubunkins. I also raised koi and had 4 that were over a foot long. Goldfish reproduced like maniacs in my biggest pond so be prepared to have to winter over a lot of fish if you move your goldies to a pond setting. My Koi died during a heat wave in 2004 and I demolished my pond after that. Broke my heart. You can't control mother nature.
I'd had plans to construct a big pond here using our existing lagoon and a 40X40 foot liner but my joint problems brought a screeching end to that plan. I'd love to have an above ground water garden using a stock tank or preformed but it hasn't gone past the 'gee that would be nice' phase of planning.

I have a 110 gallon at home.... Hope to set it up once I move back in.... Last time I had it set up I bought about five Baby Angels about quarter sized... By the end of three months they were past a silver dollar sized... They eventually got about palm sized and started breeding.... It was awesome... till the plecostomus followed right behind and scooped off the eggs....I am getting a 29 gallon tank for Christmas!
He was the oldest fish there probably about twenty years old...
my neighbor across the way has a pond made out of a ten or twelve foot diameter stock tank.... He has cattails planted on one end and a water wheel that gives the water back from the pump... I loved it.... He used to drain it half way about twice a year and refill it with fresh well water.@KDOGG331, I've had three fish ponds in the past. I've designed and and dug all of them myself. What filter medium did you use? gravel or sponge or floss or a combo?Ha! I had a plecostomus! Little devil was about 6 inches or more long when he outgrew my aquarium. I thought what the heck and tossed him in my fish pond. When I cleaned the pond out he was over a foot long. Tossed him back in with the Koi and he like the Koi, succumbed to the heat wave.
@KDOGG331. I had bout about 25 'feeder' goldfish one spring and tossed them in my pond. By August I had more little gold fish than I could count. They don't have to be that old to breed at will and brother do they have a lot of will, especially in a balanced ecology. Make sure and run a good filter system. Doesn't have to be expensive. A big five gallon bucket with a Little Giant pump in the bottom of it, fill it with pea gravel and set it in the bottom of the pond. You can run a fountain or waterfall with it with no problems. Pull the bucket and flush it once a week or more often depending on the silt that builds up. I could always tell when my filter was ready to be flushed. Easy Peasy.
