The Old Folks Home

Oh, more typical news. One of the big trucking companies that contracts out to FedEx, went broke today. No notice to employees. When the truckers went to use their gas cards, they didn't work, so they were left stranded, and jobless. These big trucks are filled with goods being shipped throughout the US, so FedEx can deliver them. My new Christmas tree, that we just ordered, is being reported as lost - unable to find, because it is on one of those many trucks that got stranded. Oh the joy.

I belive its away for the body to flush out a wound... Try not to cover it too snugly.

Are you up on your tetanus shots?

deb

Did you ever put some neosporin on it?

The draining is your body’s way of carrying away the germs. If it gets swollen, red, and hot, that’s likely infection setting in.

Thank you both. That makes sense. I did put Neosporin on it yes and put bandaids on them. And I’m pretty sure I am up to date yes but I will double check.

... One dropped his plate, as he was carrying it to the garbage to clean it off, before putting it into the sink, and got ketchup all over. ...
At least he was helping!

For some reason I've never found dog bites to be as bad as cat bites when it comes to healing them up and our dermatologist agrees.
Likely because dogs don't dig in litter boxes. Gotta be plenty of germs in there.

Oh the joy.
That really sucks. I wonder how large the area is that the company serviced. Couldn't find anything on it from Google.

Ohhhh! No! Terrible!

Poor baby....poor human. Ouch, @KDOGG331. Take care of the punctures and make sure your tetnus shots are up to date.

I had a dog get a foot caught in a floor heating great. Same thing happened. We wound up putting screen wire OVER the grates. Problem solved.

We just got Varn home from being neutered. Poor little guy is stoned out of his mind and asleep on the sofa right now. Still he managed to climb out of his run and greet DH at the kennel door when he went back to get him instead of being in his run. The office manager was amazed. She said he was out of it when she moved him back to the kennel. Stubborn, tough little dog.

@trumpeting_angel, you and I are the same age. I was born a redhead, a true ginger/carrot top and loved my red hair. I started graying in my late 40s. Mostly gray now with some reddish blonde areas still visible. I dyed my hair until we retired, being in the public eye and all, now I don't. I also wear my hair very short and spiked which has caused some funny responses, the best happening at a grocery store where a young man stocking a frozen food case bumped into me and immediately without looking around said, oh, pardon me, sir....I turned to face him and since I was wearing a tight top and jeans it was clear that, shall we say, I was female. He turned bright red, I cracked up, especially when he stammered....ummm errrr...sorry... ma'am. and hurriedly turned away. Poor kid probably thought I was going to unleash a red headed fit on him.

Cap, glad you got the ear taken care of and the bunny is adorable.

How is your pup doing?
She is doing well, but doesn't like winter weather. I have a jacket for her, and she doesn't mind wearing it. But I think once her feet get cold, she starts shivering.
