The Old Folks Home

I just had a whole post disappear....oh well. I'm alive. Studying, baking and drooling over Penny's donuts.

@perchie.girl. If I had that happen to a prime rib of mine I would have just burst into tears and fed it to the dogs.

You're a genius.
I may still make it into dog food. Cooking it tomorrow so my Son wont be around incase it gives off an aweful odor. There is a reason our granparents preferd their meat well done. especially ones that live off what they could butcher from the farm.

I am gong to taste it after I cook it... if its good it will go in the freezer for a few days and get pan seared when I serve it up.

After all It is simply ribeye when its cut into steaks...

O wow I am shivering.... been in the thirties here at night for several days. Dog got me up to hold her hand while she went potty. Silly girl. Then I found out the dog door was locked... She must have been barking when my son went to bed. I fixed it.

When I get home I am going to install my shop in the art studio. I will also set a camera table for making good pictures of my products with good lighting and backdrops. My computer will be on that table as well. And of course since it is my bedroom Telephone internet and bed will be there as well. Did I mention my art/studio is appx 11 x 16 feet. I am adding a master bath and kitchenette as well. so I wont have to run in and out of the house to go to the bathroom.

I will do a Screen for the bed kind of for separation. It will make the room easier to heat with my oil radiator. I hope to move the pot belly down to the art studio after getting a larger one for the main house.

The house is up on piers with a cinder block foundation around it. The art Studio and green house room are on grade and have slab floors. The green house room is a bit larger than the art studio has drains in the floor and one wall is completely open to the outside. Its secured by a Chain-link kennel panel hung on Nails. I hope to secure it better by using staples and safety wire.

It was only to keep the cats in and chickens out. but I don't want it getting bumped and falling in... LOL

I remember one of my dogs peed inside the kennel- none of them ever did that. So I really hollered at her. Her response was to keep jumping at the door to show me it would not open. I felt badly and apologized. Turned out her kennel mate had his toy on the outside and it kept the door from opening. I deserved :smack.

Grey hounds are that way will not pee in their kennel. At the track the handlers get them out quite often ... So at the rescue they are kept in the same kind of kennels which is a four by four cage with deep bedding and toys inside.

So one day the rescue people found one cage that was soaked. The female in there wanted out bad.... So they took her out to the rescue yard and stripped her bedding and did a thorough cleaning... Went to put her back in and she wouldnt go in.... Then they caught the male in the cage next to her hiking his leg and aiming for her kennel..... :gig

Some rearanging and Viola offender is isolated pee distance away... and she went to bed very happily...

Our cattle dogs house broke themselves after a few 'accidents' in the house where the transgressor was escorted outside and forced to stay there for 30 minutes by themselves before being let back in. Only took three times doing that with three different dogs before they learned to go out on their own using their doggy door. Now when they are in, one will disappear, one of us will say, where's Sidney and a second later we will hear the doggy door flap slap shut and Sid will appear. Caught one of them going out the door last week and hurried to look out the kitchen window. Sure enough, there was Varn out in the back yard doing his business before hurrying back in to join the rest in the house.

The only 'hard nut to crack' has been Spot who will occasionally leave us a gift to find in the morning. I honestly think her slip ups are due to her being clipped by a truck when she was just a year old. That and the fact that she doesn't 'ask' to go out but will just sit by the back door and stare at the doorknob till somebody notices and lets her out. Hard to do when you are asleep.

Morning or after noon all. Just finished baking and decorating a batch of sugar cookies. Nap time!
