The Old Folks Home

Yeah, I really need to start carrying a camera that I can turn on fast and catch this stuff when it happens..that is catch the cattle dogs. Not too thrilled to catch a container of water being dumped on my head by the chickens tho, LOL.

All done baking here with the exception of pumpkin pie which I will bake tomorrow. I had ordered two cans of pumpkin filling from Amazon Prime that was set to be delivered today. I was in town yesterday picking up a few odds and ends at the grocery and saw canned pumpkin at a reasonable price and thought what the heck and picked up a few cans. Glad I did. Had a message from Amazon Prime that they couldn't fulfill my order and it wasn't coming today. Shame, the filling was 50 cents cheaper than it was at the store. Still, glad I picked up the pumpkin yesterday. The roads were horribly sloppy until I got to the black top. Nothing like clay and horse poop turned to muck when it comes to making driving interesting....not.

So is everybody ready for Christmas?...Hanukkah?...which I think today is the first day of Hanukkah so to all who celebrate, Shalom and Happy Hanukkah.
I have finished making candy-- a caramel, English toffee and raspberry truffles.

Tomorrow I bake a cake, almond cookies and start cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning and asiago bread for Christmas dinner

Yeah, Bruce, we support our local store....just wished they delivered stuff to our mucky driveway the way UPS does.....still, in my favor, spent over 100$ there in groceries yesterday.

Two weeks ago, I noticed they were out of ground turkey. When I found the meat manager I asked him if he had any in the back and he said no, they had been having trouble finding it but he would check. I went about finishing shopping and was standing in line when he hunted me up to tell me that he could get Honeysuckle White ground turkey and apologized for it being more expensive. But he could have some in the following Wednesday. He did and DH picked up two tubes for me.

Now get that service at your big city big name grocery...or even Amazon for that part who canceled my pumpkin order....the day before I bake pies.:rant

No! I did finish the candy and will work on getting a picture of them for you. I will get pictures of the other baked goods tomorrow when I bake them.

The raspberry truffles are very good!

My Oldest DD asked for the candy. I think she misses it since she is living in San Jose and they are eating a healthy diet....

Here is the candy!

Yep! Today I picked up 3 "wedges" of Edam cheese at my local family owned grocery store. NOBODY here carries it but I found 2 different brands when I was in So. Cal., brought home 3 small round ones (all the store had). The other was Boer's Head which is a brand the family store carries so I asked Ray if he could get it from his supplier. His supplier doesn't carry it nor does theirs BUT they special ordered it FOR ME. I LOVE GEORGIA MARKET and the people who work there!
