The Old Folks Home

Well ..Dr called me concerning my husband and the test for his prostate. Long story short, he asked if we thought it would be best for him to go through surgery if he has cancer. He explained how slow this cancer is. How hard it would be on him with his Alzheimer's. I had never thought about it. Boy, did I start reading. Sure enough, it's slow. And yes, I know it would be hard on Scot. I did talk with him. He understood, I had to explain it a couple of times, but he says...no..no surgery. I like having him just the way he is right now..for a while longer. Going through what he would have to would have him declining even faster. So, no surgery.
That is likely a good choice!

From the onset of it in Germany, either they already have a vaccine, OR already have effective medicines to treat it, OR they are not reporting the numbers accurately. I don't include Germany's stats either.
I am sure that their (Germany's) numbers are accurate... just their protocols and hospitals and population are way different than Italy.

Cynthia I'm sending you and Scott many prayers. I know that was not an easy decision. Virtual hugs to you and please reach out to me if there is anything I can do.

For the sewers in the group, there is a CDC approved pattern for fabric face masks out there. I've found it and it is easy to make. I'm going to make a bunch and see if my local hospital or VA could use them. I know our local hospital has one of those drive through testing sites so they may be looking for masks. Just looking for ways to help. I am super thankful I can work from home and since our company is a DOD contractor we may not get shut down. DHs job he has to go in. I'm hoping they aren't required to shut down manufacturing. Our governor just shut down all non-essential businesses.

Good morning all! All is well on our little piece of earth, thank God.

@dsqard, how ever did you break your arm?

@Cynthia12, Bless both of you. This is one of those things where you have to do what is best for the two of you and yes, you made the right decision for the two of you.

So everyone, what do you all think about the 'Spring Break' dilemma in Florida?

Personally, I think these yes, selfish and extremely stupid young people are endangering not only themselves but others and that the authorities should go in there, clear them out and close the beaches until this thing passes.....

Just my humble two cent's worth of opinion.

We aren't going anywhere. Hubby is 80 and I'm in my 70's with conditions, so I guess that makes the risks much higher for us. I do sell my eggs which mostly pays for the feed for the birds. I did go to town yesterday to pick up feed. I filled the back of the truck so hopefully it will last a good long while. I have been keeping disinfecting wipes next to the cooler and the change cookie jar. Every time someone comes to get eggs, I wipe everything down with the wipes. Sometimes I need to refresh the money in the cookie jar and put smaller bills in it. I am concerned about handling the money but also clean my hands well after handling it. I hope we stay safe. We are small town USA and a neighbor came by for eggs the other day and said someone in our small town tested positive. Too close...
