The Old Folks Home

Good morning all! All is well on our little piece of earth, thank God.

@dsqard, how ever did you break your arm?

@Cynthia12, Bless both of you. This is one of those things where you have to do what is best for the two of you and yes, you made the right decision for the two of you.

So everyone, what do you all think about the 'Spring Break' dilemma in Florida?

Personally, I think these yes, selfish and extremely stupid young people are endangering not only themselves but others and that the authorities should go in there, clear them out and close the beaches until this thing passes.....

Just my humble two cent's worth of opinion.

First of all, the young are immortal ------ so they think. Next they are part of an entitled generation. Frequently in our attempt to give them 'a better life' we have spoiled them. And then again the severity of this disease was/sometimes is still downplayed by officials. The indication that not only are the elderly being impacted with morbidity was slow in being released. Recent reports indicate that 40 % of ICU cases are younger than 60.

The mayors of several counties along the beach fronts, would not shut down their beaches, until after Spring Break. Yes, some of those people on them are from Florida, but the vast majority are tourists, from out of state. The comments on social media, were that there is nothing healthier than warm weather, lots of sunshine, and salt water. From the comments, you would think the tourists had found the magical curative.

Most of us that have been here for any real length of time, know better, and the water temps are still a bit too cold for us. In addition, most of those people use the facilities, which is a great way to spread the virus. All that risk, all for the sake of money.

From the onset of it in Germany, either they already have a vaccine, OR already have effective medicines to treat it, OR they are not reporting the numbers accurately. I don't include Germany's stats either.
Seems like only the final OR could be accurate (though I don't know that they are not reporting accurately) since there won't be a vaccine available for at least a year and to date they have found no medicine that will treat the disease. Best they can do is treat the symptoms until (hopefully) one's own body kills of the virus.

From the comments, you would think the tourists had found the magical curative.
Of course they did, it is in the Fountain of Youth which they also found but aren't revealing the location so they can keep it for themselves.

Morning! Hugs, Cynthia.
Dsqard, please let me know if they would like the masks. I seemingly have extra time on my hands with no wrestling going on and 2 feet of new snow to boot.
Have a great day you all!

Drinking each other's beer, sharing bongs, indiscriminate hookups.... What could go wrong? Too bad nobody showed them a picture of what a teen on a respirator looks like or reminded them that they might return home and inadvertently kill their family members. It might have maybe given them pause.

Spring Break = Darwin's Theory in action, affecting those who chose hedonism over health and safety.

Factual postulation needs to stop, too. Honesty, is there a virus out there that ONLY affects one age group? Common sense seems to be out the window on scientific reasoning. We need to behave like nobody is immune because, well, they aren't.

On the other hand.... Good news!
