The Old Folks Home

I need to head up to Santa Fe today to take care of some punch list items -- burned out light bulb, Draino in a sink, water the yard, general maintenance -- before tomorrow's house showing. It'll be a quick drive as traffic isn't on the freeways nor anywhere in NM. I'll also get a tank of gas as it's going for $1.54/gallon. Yes to gloves, hand sanitizer and lots of good ol' soap & water.
New Mexico has under 60 cases, but we're ramping up with higher numbers daily. Not on total lockdown...yet. That's coming soon as our Governor is a devotee of CA's Governor. Most everyone I know is already sheltered in place except for trips to the store.
BTW, if you're a senior, instead of senior hours at the grocery store, try their at-store pickup service. A lot of stores are waiving the delivery fee if you're elderly and providing curbside service.

Hi @tigger19687 and welcome to the home. Glad you could pull up a chair (rockers always available) and join us.

We still only have one close case and that is 12-16 miles away in good old Kirksville.

I told DH that I'm going to call the local grocery tomorrow and ask what services they are offering to seniors and high risk people as far as grocery shopping is concerned..For some reason I feel safest the closer to home we are. We are isolated pretty much, 3+miles off the nearest hard top road. And those 3+ miles are literally 3+ miles of bad road. You only see 'city folk' out and about on a Sunday afternoon during really nice weather but only if it's not mud, dust or ruts and oh, they just bought a new Prius and don't want to chip the paint with those nasty rocks we drive on every day.

Nearest neighbor a quarter of a mile away one direction and 1/3 of a mile in the opposite direction.

I love it but told DH last night that we don't live far enough away from everybody yet...

Sinus infection is finally backing off...thank God. Nice to be able to think again.
