The Old Folks Home

I have a odd nightmare about Nematodes
These are a lot different from the bad ones and do not hurt plants. They are still completely harmless to animals and earth worms.

They also go away when there is nothing to feed on

Sorry to hear about the fall, @Peep_Show. As I am so fond of saying, when bodies meets the ground, the ground always wins. Take care.

The eggs are the hopefully 6 Fayoumi and 4 bantam eggs that I have in my Mini echo. I say hopefully because I have a few that lay eggs that are the same color and size of a Fayoumi egg. Even if they aren't Fayoumi eggs, they will more than likely be Fayoumi crosses which is fine with me.

The other 4 are bantam eggs. They have been in my incubator for 5 days and are developing nicely. I have room to handle 2 broodies. One is a little bantam cross, the other a small to medium hen. The bantam got the bantam eggs and the larger hen the 6 regular sized eggs. They both looked incredibly pleased when I stuffed them under them and told them they were in their care now.

Speaking of pleased today we let the cattle dogs loose in their new and improved back yard. Talk about happy. They ran, they explored and since we had a brief downpour this afternoon with thunder, they have been out playing in the lagoon. 6 sopping wet, grinning red heelers. Makes the 5 days of work and 500 dollars well spent.

Sounds like a lot of happy animals there.
Today I finished up the Mini brooder that I hope will help chicks that get out of the nest. It will have a light, food, and water. I made it so the hens can't get in because they were eating all the chick food and getting shavings in the water.

Hope you will be feeling better soon. Have you applied ice to the area?

I'm a big fan of aloe vera gel to get that bruise up and gone.

Falling is not fun and hardest on us old folks

True that! We don't bounce as well, not like when we were kids. Cannot figure if that's because it's now farther to the ground or we're not as agile and supple. In any event, ouch! And slightly embarrassing....

It sounds like they do enjoy the new yard!
