Penny, I'm the gamer, but I do tons of videos as well. We talked awhile back about upgrading things to 4k UHD. At the time, it was not practical. Now, technology-wise, and price-wise, it seems like a great time to jump on the bandwagon. Yes, I know they are already coming out with 8k UHD, HOWEVER, they're just now getting decent 4k UHD media (games, movies, etc.). It's going to take several years for the industry to catch up with 4k UHD, so upgrading higher than 4k at this point, is a waste of money.
 
The kids have their own big screen tv. They also have a Sony Playstation, and lots of age appropriate games for it. When the kids would come visit in the summer, before they moved in, they would complain about not being able to play video games sometimes.

I have this VERY OLD Nintendo Game Cube from 2001, which I got when my kids were young. Through the years, I accumulated a large number of games for it. I hooked it up for them. It kept them happy. Now that they've moved in, they still play their Playstation, but the Mario Party games, and a few others, allow for 4 players. We do game night with board games, but also do game night with the Mario Party games.

One of the controllers for my Game Cube, finally bit the dust. Today, we went to a place, and I was able to get 2 more. I was only going to get the one replacement, but it's getting hard to find the controllers now, and I figured I might better get, while the getting was good. While we were at the store, they had a few Game Cube games. We got Kirby, Curious George, and Rugrats games.

When we got home, the kids, and their Mom took over the tv, with the games. Remember, Dd #1 grew up playing most of these games, so she has a blast with them too. The Curious George game is just difficult enough, and interesting enough the older kids like it, but it's simple enough the youngest can do it on her own, and loves it. I decided to unhook the Game Cube from my tv, and let them hook it up in their room, otherwise, I will not be able to watch my tv for a few days. Not bad for a 20 year old system, that works like new. Something I love about it, is the content on the games from back then. No real violence, blood, guts, gore, monsters, evil, witchcraft, etc.

We bought a couple controllers from GameStop a few yrs ago for our GameCube felt like old folks lol. Never been into any game system after that one and never bought one for our kids after the Wii.
Seemed like growing up we always hit the tail end of every system fad, from the Atari to Nintendo. Only one I had that was new was the 64, still my fave, and still have it bought it when I first moved out on my own.
Did you see a unopened original Mario Bros 1985 game just hit a record $114,000 at auction? :eek:
