The Fayoumi chickens are the ones that are Mareks resistant?

Yes. I've lost one hen but she has never been a big thriving bird, always thin, always looking like she didn't feel well but never giving any symptoms that you could point to as a cause.

They are also parasite resistant.

That's right ron, Fayoumi's are supposed to be resistant to Mareks. Maybe a Fayoumi breeder made "that" up

I doubt it DD. Everything I've read about them says that they are resistant to many diseases and parasites that plague chickens in general.

Murray McMurray got their breeding stock from a university that was doing research into their disease resistance.

It would be nice if they could pinpoint the gene that makes them resistant and develop it so they can pass on that resistance to ALL breeds of birds.

This is the graphics card I finally decided on. I did a lot of research, read a lot of reliable reviews. The one in the link, is well liked, stable, and will meet my needs, while not breaking the bank. It's $585.00, whilet he newer 2080's start at about $900.00, and go up to over $1,600.00. I guess a lot of people have come to that same conclusion. Newegg, and Amazon are out of them. There is one of the Amazon vendors selling them through Amazon, asking about $750.00, PLUS $$54.00 tax. Talk about price gouging.

Wait a minute? Guys, I think we were just called old! OH, we ARE old (well we are for the most part anyway)But good stew only gets better with seasoning and most of us are well seasoned around here.

Seriously @EverythingDucks, your grandparents are sincerely welcomed to join us here at the home and for that matter so are you. We always have empty rockers and plenty of Iced tea to go around. Young folks or young at heart it doesn't matter to us. Pull up a chair and sit a spell.

Yes, and I had a discussion with the vet today who said the goat likely doesn't need sub Q fluids if she is eating and drinking fluids. Good, I didn't want to pay a vet bill anyway.

I was sitting out on the screened porch, drinking coffee, and heard some very strange noises. All the little cockerels are learning to crow. It gave me a chuckle.

They crack me up! I have some in the brooder trying already.
