The problem we have in our area is unavailable internet. We have school districts where there is no cable or WIFI. This really makes virtual schooling inconsistent

Hopefully the new satellite system by space x will help. It is called starlink

I realize now how privileged to grow up on a cattle ranch. We had most any critter..
The old do not name it if you will eat it .. Horses, dirt bikes.. I 4-H'd a Bull
rode my horses and 160 acre playground .. I have great memories from then and am still smart enough to know my birds are the playground of my retirement

I have something similar to live down only I thought chipmunks were 'cute' and used to put sunflower seeds out for them. DH warned me that their cuteness was deceptive and 'just wait'.

Sure enough within a few weeks they had tunneled out my flower beds and a good portion of the front yard and my opinion of them faltered. Next thing I knew I was loading up my .22 and taking care of their 'cuteness'.

That's one of the things I love about our farm. No chipmunks. We have Voles coming out of our ears but no chipmunks.

Once caught a wood chuck that completely filled the hav a hart trap. No kidding, front to back, side to side. Thing was a monster and smelled to high heaven. Plus it still managed to lunge at me and growl. I was living in the city at the time and it had burrowed under the garage. I called the city and they said to tie a rope to the trap and throw it into the river to drown. I was appalled PLUS it was a 20 pound wood chuck. No way I could do that.

I finally wound up wrestling the cage into the car and took it for a drive to the country where there were lots of woods...what better place for a 20 pound wood chuck?

You all on the west coast are getting the weather we had late last week and over the weekend.

My birthday was Saturday. DH asked me at the end of the day if I had a nice day and I said....Hot....always hot on July 18th. Ask me how my birthday was 10 years ago and I'd say HOT. 25 years ago....HOT. You get the idea.

Bit cooler here today. Low 80s but humid with rain off and on.

Lucky you, we had 100° again today! I got stung by 2 hornets, took Benadryl, iced red areas and slept all day.

Been there done that and got the t-shirt. Hope you are feeling better. Wish I could figure out how to upload pics from my phone. I'd post a picture that we took of my little finger the first time I got stung.
