Cookie, the mother of my three bantam chicks went back to the flock today. Bingo bango bongo gone. She wanted out of the broody pen and spent most of the day away from the chicks. I let them out about noon and they were having a great time. Mom checked on them every now and then but the two small BBR roosters in the coop stayed with them all day and kept watch over them.

I'm really amazed even now how well my roosters treat the babies. Even big Tut hung around them a lot.

Tonight she went to roost with the flock and left the babies crying for her in their pen. Breaks my heart when that happens

My three cochin chicks roost now, mama is back to laying eggs. However, the Serama hen is broody.

My Cochin have 2 now one blue one partridge separate coops for now they do not roost either of them.. Even when I had two together they did not roost

@penny1960 it's a Galaxy S9 I believe.

We had storms overnight here with another 1.5 inches of rain. We were able to turn off the AC for the first time in a week. High today only 80 which is perfect.
