The Old Folks Home

For the past several years, I've had grands in potty training, OR they weren't quite tall enough to reach the commode (toilet). I have a large step that stays in front of the commode, so the grands can step up enough to navigate getting on the big potty. I never thought about it, but even the adults have to put their feet on the step. I was using this method long before it became a "thing". Who knew?

My aunt posted this on FB today.
So given I can answer "yes" to every one, you are saying I'm OLD?????

Does it really work?
I don't know but the lady in the picture is in big trouble with the lid down and her pants up!

Per your last post, that was my thought, why do you need a special stool rather than just any old step stool. AND .... Given that people are all different heights and even people of the same height can have different length legs, how does a "one size fits all" stool work out? If a stool was the right height for my not quite 5'2" daughter my knees would be up my nose!

I'm only 5'2" tall but have long legs and arms....monkey gene on my mom's side of the family is my only explanation. I have a 30-32 inch inseam. It makes it hard to find pants that are small enough to fit and long enough so that the cuffs aren't above my ankles.

I've heard of the 'stool' and frankly I frown on the one size fits all on anything. Better to hunt around the house and find something that fits a person's individual size.

But it makes sense. They have found that women have an easier delivery of their babies when they are in a sitting/reclined position where they can use gravity to bear down..Many cultures never abandoned the 'position' to ease the pain of childbirth. Now birthing chairs are back in vogue so yeah, if it works for childbirth, it would be logical that a more upright, squatting position would work for well going #2 also.

Miserable hot here today. High of 90, humidity at 68% and heat indices in the 90s. Go outside and the heat hits you in the face.

I almost...mind you ALMOST am ready to say I am ready for Fall.

We went to Yosemite this week!

The trip to Yosemite was fun! Even if it is a lot of driving.

This is the tunnel leading to the Valley
