The Old Folks Home

One of our relatives on my dad’s side participated in the Boston Tea Party! :D he also knew Paul Revere and I’m pretty sure was in the Revolutionary War. I think he ended up a Captain. And he was also a ship builder and mason. Then my dad’s great uncle founded Ocean Spray. We didn’t get anything from it though hahah
You can find out if any of your ancestors were in the revolutionary war by checking with the son's and Daughters of the revolutionary war. I have one that was so I could apply for a Son of the Revolutionary war.

Oh wow that’s awesome!! I’ll have to check into that. I’m pretty sure he and his son were but not entirely sure.

A person on Ancestry told me I could apply since one Ancestor fought in the war and his Wife's Father was too(she is my ancestor too) So I have two verified revolutionary war ancestors.

I have not done that yet though

Oh wow that’s awesome! I’ll have to look into it. I’m not sure exactly how we’re related but he’s about as far back as we’ve gotten with the ancestry haha

Waiting on the tests taken yesterday on the Manager and the worker at DW's location that the Manager helped. Workers at the other location also being tested I guess. If either of them test positive, DW can get tested. I suspect I could then as well.

DW has looked at us ;) but she is pretty much in a dark hole. Stays in one part of the house when she isn't at work. We all have been eating dinner outside on the deck making sure she is > 6' away and down wind. That won't work well in the rain tomorrow though so we'll just spread out in the house. She is being super extra careful both at work and home.
Sounds like a good plan...

Keep us updated.

And good luck!

My Fathers side goes back to the early 1700s when the first one made it here. My Mothers side seems to go back a bit to Ireland in the mid 1800s.

It is hard to find information when you hit Europe

It is likely ok to talk to bread dough but worry if it answers you back!
But if you talk to your sourdough starter and it talks back that is OK since it is alive :D

Then my dad’s great uncle founded Ocean Spray.
That's pretty cool!

Gram's claim to fame was she was in the 1906 earthquake in San Francisco as a child.
My mother's mother and her father went from Barcelona to Guadalajara Mexico. He went to S.F. after the earthquake and fire to help rebuild. I think my grandmother was 3 or 4 and was left at a convent to be cared for. I'm not sure when they moved up to Los Angeles so I don't know if she was in So. Cal or Mexico when he was in SF.

And your daughters can join the DAR. Of my grandparents only my maternal grandfather was not born in Spain. Springfield IL actually. His lines go back to the 1600's, mostly from England. Definitely some Revolutionary war soldiers. Captain Amos Joy is buried in Putney, VT next to his wife in the Dipping Hole cemetery. I went there a few years ago and found the markers. They had moved up to Putney (or 'removed to' as they said then) from Rehoboth, MA. One of his grand daughters was my grandfather's grandmother. Her brother was born in Putney but the family moved to Ohio (I think) a couple of years before she was born in 1818.

Sounds like a good plan...
DW has found out that the manager is negative. Waiting to hear from the co-worker but that makes us much less likely to be in the line of infection.

Ron --
No teaching engineers, per se. The one that retired from LANL does lecture on occasion at colleges, but more on the state of the nuclear industry today. More civics than engineering.
I wondered about the one at Los Alamos. Often they are University related.

My DW was operated on by a Senate Faculty Orthopedics professor\MD from the UCD Med Center. He is a Teaching Physician and has published papers
