Genetics has quite a bit to do with it too. Apparently Scottish genes are bad for skin cancersTwo years ago I had a squamous cell carcinoma on my upper lip so am aware of the need to keep an eye on skin 'happenings'. 79 years of time spent outdoors has played its toll on my skin. First time he saw me his greeting was, "Well you've spent a lot of time in the outdoors." Hey, don't I get a Hello ?![]()

I think the other thing day students miss is meeting people from a lot of places. Many geographical, ethnic, religious, political, etc backgrounds that are likely a lot different than the bubble of their high school years. Just might expand their minds a bit.Do I miss the 'college experience' of staying in a dorm? I have to admit that I do see it as having a purpose. It prepares young people to live on their own and not depend on mom and dad for everything from meals to laundry.
