Getting ready to pick apples, which meant I needed to clear out the apples in the freezer from last year.

So there is hot apple pie! (vanilla ice cream on hand if that is the way you like it) hot apple sauce and two loaves of pumpkin bread which have nothing to do with the apples but I have had two sugar pie pumpkins sitting on the counter staring at me for about a week now so I took the cleaver to one of them and voile pumpkin bread.

Line forms to the right, bring your own plate and fork! Us old folk need to keep our strength up!

bruce, I don't really care for the tractor pulls, but Dh loves them. I prefer the car races (late models). We wear ear protection, so the noise is not too big of a deal. We wear eye protection too, depending on which place we go to watch.

Tractor pulls. Around here the only thing more popular is high school foot ball and mule jumping. not at the same time of course.

Dd #1 got her rejection letter from the Community College nursing program yesterday. She cried. She made a 3.198 GPA. They have so few slots for their program, anything under 3.599 isn't even considered, BUT that's not what their enrollment information says. It's even printed on the sheet with her GPA they sent, that 2.999 and up qualifies. Moving on to the backup plan, she went to speak with them about going into the Diagnostic Imaging course. Nope, it's filled too.

I told her not to give up, and today we've been looking for accredited institutions of learning, that offer what she's trying to get into. She's got an appointment to speak with someone in the morning. I am in hopes they can credit her with the 2 years of prerequisites, and she can proceed into the course.

Here at UC Davis, the GPA has to be something over 4.0-- due to the extra points given for taking advanced classes. The GPA cut goes up each year too

Made it back from shopping Costco and Fullers grocery .. Did Arby's for lunch trying to decide what to be for halloween

Ron, I know each state can be very different. Here, for what she's trying to get, there is nothing over a 4.0 GPA. There are no advanced courses yet. This is all entry level, so she can get her foot in the door.

She's not whipped yet. There are still options available.

It should not be as hard as they make it to get into a degree or certificate program.
