The Old Folks Home

Hmmm, interesting! We both need plenty of sunlight! More reason to spend a lot of time outside with the chickens šŸ˜ You hear so much bad about sunlight and cancer but my drs are always saying get more sunshine, get more sunshine!
We often think of heart and brain being the major organs but once the glands don't work right we find out just how much those little things do for us!
Got to play catch up here but sunshine isn't our friend.

Just got word today that my husband has to have MOHS skin cancer surgery 3 days before Christmas. So many we have lost count at this point in time but he has been dealing with this for 35 year. To make matters worse, it's on his poor face....again.

Yes, sunlight is good for us like anything else, in moderation but with a liberal slathering of sun screen to protect you from Skin Cancer.

That feeling after you finish shoveling your drive way when your not sure where to go with the last shovel fulls.... And along comes the snow plow and neatly deposits it back where you just removed it!🤨

I had a city snow plow do that to me when I was in my 30s. I had just finished clearing my parent's drive way and he blows by me at warp 8 hurling snow back into the drive and on me as I was standing at the end of the driveway.

I saluted him with one finger.

Tylenol is my friend on days like this.
4 grams in 24 hours if you don't drink but they recommend 3 grams now for everyone.

Trust me, I got NSAIDS and RX pain med dosage titrated out and indelibly burned into my memory. I can't remember what I had for breakfast but by God I know how much aspirin and tylenol I've had during the day down to the milligram.

We sure are glad for Drs when we need them but sometimes there is no end... I'm so glad you have been at his side through all this and continue to do so.šŸ™šŸ™šŸ™
... And yes in moderation- I don't wear sleeveless clothing or shorts, and when I'm out in the sun I'm pretty much covered up!

Routine, daily pain is generally ignored. Use NSAIDS only after tooth work or extreme body torment. :lau If I ever wake up pain free, I will fear that I have died.

Thanks Loves. He's been through some pretty tough surgeries, all in payment to a life spent enjoying the sun when he was in his thirties and twenties. We didn't have sunscreen when we were growing up, now we are paying for it.

Yep, couldn't pry me away from his side with a crow bar and dynamite. I just wish he would catch a break. We were optimistic that the dermatologist had his skin under control then this popped up...literally.

I can't press enough the need for sunscreen. Never think it can't happen to you because it can.
