The Old Folks Home

Thanks for the pick up, Ron. Yes, DH is mostly Scot with some Irish and I have some Irish on my mom's side. She was a quarter Cherokee and her skin tone was a bit darker but she got a basal cell cancer on her temple.

Morning all. Hope all of you that got a heavy snow are digging out safely. Please take care. The majority of us here at The Home have no business shoveling a heavy wet snow. Please be careful. We have lost touch with 2 members. We don't need to lose any more.
My Mom had one under her right eye and I have a mark there. I need to get the Dr. to look at it next time I am in. The mask covers it LOL!

I was searching for a thread that I could relate to. I noticed that the really active threads were the kids' threads. That's fine, but I really enjoy chatting with people my age (old.) Then I noticed the active state threads, but MY state's thread is hit or miss. I love the hatch-alongs and the swaps but those can be sporadic.

I really wanted to find a thread where anything and everything (within BYC rules) can be thrown out and other middle aged folks could relax and enjoy each others company. I want to have a thread where we can keep up with old BYC friends, and make new ones.

If that appeals to you, regardless of your age, please subscribe!

I Thought I was half german until Ancestry DNA! I am mostly Irish and British isles LOL!
We were just talking about that. DH said your last name sounded German. I agreed, interesting.

I'm noticing changes in my skin. Enough that when this covid BS is over I'm going to DH's dermatologist and getting a base line check over. Even tried some of his efudex and the spots reacted so I know it's time before something requiring carving sets in.
Hiya, here in the uk. Living in a first and aged over 60 , am I allowed in your gang?
Most certainly! Welcome to the Home. Pull up a rocking chair and sit a spell with us! Ice tea, hot tea, coffee, all beverages welcome....yeah, that too!:gig

Dont get me started on worms!!🐛
The sound or sight of the spade causes bedlam, 7 little ladies, their little legs going fast to be first in the hole!!
They love worms so much, we’ve been relandscaping the garden and we have a lot of heavy wet clay soil, h#ll to dig but such enormous worms, I do feel quite sorry for them, they show their faces and to greet them are 7 pairs of beady eyes!!! Worm suicide!!!
The girls have eaten baby birds as well but that was in the summertime.
