It would be fine if it lasted a month ... but yeah...9 months of winter is crazy.

I was in Corvallis Oregon for a year and a half.. After one 9 month winter I was looking for jobs back down here in the south... Only took 72 hours to drive back to the sunny south.

Good morning all. Hope everyone has a good Easter.

Here, new whole house water heater arrived and is installed. Still no word from the company who made the old one with a 5 year warranty. Of course the heater died at the one year mark so you would think that the company would stand by their guarantee. No such luck it appears.

My dear husband said he was going to release the kraken and have me call them which I believe I will do on Monday.

I got a raised bed built yesterday and drug out to the garden. Thig was made of two old oak plants that used to be part of a corral so it was heavy as you can imagine. I have one more to build but frankly my muscles need a break.

We had two raccoons visit the back porch a couple of nights ago. A sow and one baby. Momma has to go but I don't have the heart to off the baby. It will probably be caught and relocated to the north end of our property where there is an abundance of food and water.

We had a little stray cat show up in our barn and set out food for it. The next day I found a suspicious wad of hair on one of our trails. I fear the foxes have struck and kitty didn't survive. D*** foxes anyway. I know we have quite a few around right now. Their paw prints were all over in the snow over the winter, all different sizes. No idea how to get rid of them. MODOC has said shoot them but frankly I would have to set up all night and I enjoy sleep better than hunting.

Weather is great here so we are off to split wood.

Today is DH's and my 14th wedding anniversary!

A belated Happy Anniversary! I hope not was a good one.

How are the next boxes and roosts?

Unfortunately, those are missing, but it won't be hard to add some. TSC has some on sale on line, and I'm thinking of getting a few--or more.

TSC is corporate enemy to me

From the time I got chickens, I refused to go see the chicks, or let the kids see the chicks at the feed store, and TSC. I didn't want to risk cross contaminating my own flock.

Corporate raiders they bought the little town store then shut it down like we would drive 45 miles there one way ..
No Fing way I refuse the same little folks brought the store back now Old one was Dels coop .. now it is Timbertown feeds

Dd's external portable drive quit working. I suspect the youngest grand dropped it, BUT I'm running the software to see if it will fix it. I got onto her a bit about being careless when she lets the youngest on her laptop. When the youngest uses the mouse, she doesn't stop, and remove anything sitting in it's way. She just keeps moving the mouse, and pushing anything in it's way, onto the floor. We paid $99.00 for that drive, from Amazon. I cautioned her about her headphones too.

Yesterday, the youngest seemed to be struggling with the desk chair. I looked, and saw that she had rolled over the cord to her mother's headphones, and it was twisted up in the wheel. Dh noticed too, and unwrapped the cord. He was not happy. We paid $100.00 for a nice set of headphones for Dd #1. I just bought a new set of cheaper headphones for each the grands too. The youngest is very hard on headphones. She shouldn't even be allowed to use her mother's. Youngest grand had no idea where her own headphones were. When I mentioned it tonight, Dd #1 got them down for the grand to use. She had put them up.
