The Old Folks Home

Ahh I love it when we skip down memory lane!

Afternoon all. Up to our ears in getting the 'fill the Lagoon with dirt and put the fence back up, project' finished. My dear husband has done an amazing job of filling in the hole. Yesterday we spent 80$ on grass seed which we got planted and we are now praying for rain so it has a chance to grow.

Today we are working on the fence with four little eager cattle dog faces watching us.

For the old commercials....here's one for you...

You'll wonder where the yellow went when you brush your teeth with Pepsodent.

We watched a movie on Prime that was nothing but old TV ads from the 50s through the 70s, I think. May have been a larger era. We cracked up watching them.

Good morning OF. Astute observation, @bruceha2000
Sour, 2 days ago the Rooster went to flap at me and missed and hit the side of the chicks wire cage, he walked away kind of shaking his head, I thought , you silly Bob, and he was fine. BUT, I noticed this morning the end of his top beak was off color,,, Bob cracked his beak, I picked him up and looked, its not bled any, it is not flopping but I looked in his mouth and it is far back enough that the ??quick/upper lip would show if it falls off. I thought about super gluing it and then thought no bad idea ,,,, I think I should just leave it alone and keep an eye on it,,, what do you think?

I'm not Sour, Grandma but I had a rooster break the top of his beak last hear. Snapped off part of it and there was a crack that went off to the side and towards his nostril. The part of the beak from the crack to the outer edge of his beak. It was a nasty fracture. I trimmed off part of the 'shards' of beak that were jagged and kept an eye on him. He was able to eat without too much trouble and the beak started to grow back in. I had to keep trimming it as it grew out.

A year later and it is healed except that his upper beak is a bit shorter than the lower so I trim off the lower beak for a better fit.

I know there is a type of 'cement' that folks use but I will bow to somebody more knowledgeable....like the venerable @sourland. :bow
