Tell our weather people they are all telling us we need more rain

well I wouldnt need it if the ground didnt have so much sand in it that it all runs down and out, and I'am not talking garden, forest, it has rained all week and only the top bit is wet, you dig 6 inches and its dry to damp ,, but it is what it is and the Lord didnt put me in charge of making it rain ahahahahahahahahaha so ,, I'll have more coffee Penny hehehehe

I think the difference might be that Washington State gets rain in the Summer. We do not here so our reservoirs are critical. Storage is very low currently since this is the second year of drought for us.

99% of our rain and snow comes from October to late March. It is hard to comprehend but I literally will not see rain until then. Months of no rain.

not at my house, we dont get a lot of rain, 19 to 23 inches of rain, on average, per year

What I recall most Grandma and Ma cooked vegtables in boiling water till mush

OMLord, Cookie would cook turnip and mustard greens to death and I would have to sit and clean my plate,, I gaged on that stuff and got yelled at for it

I can string and cut beans with my eyes closed.

my green beans I planted from seed are STILL yellow, I have don all that I can and is listed on all the "what to do" ---I took the bean trellis I made down ,,,I have about given up on them


And I REALLY wanted some fresh green beans, dog-gone-IT!!

I need another Cup @penny1960 @Sequel , I am glad its not as cold as it was yesterday morning, I had to build a fire at 8, I couldn't get warm, we get sun, but not heat.

For some reason legumes seem to be taking their own sweet time growing this year. I was just about pulling my hair out waiting for the peas to (1) sprout (2) grow (3) trellis (4) bear flowers. It seemed like extra months were added into the process. Patience is a virtue which apparently I'm lacking.
