The Old Folks Home

Morning OF! Woke up to another day in paradise! I've gotten most of my chores done and projects I had on my list and had the materials for. Back to raking leaves for me since the grass has stopped growing. He he, a 3 month reprieve from pushing the lawn mower around. Don't think I'll be clearing any more land this winter, but we shall see.

Probably a hen. She was demanding to know what you were doing up so late, Where is breakfast? Have you made coffee yet and when you get done with that there is lawn to rake, a garage to clean and OH! Don't even think about watching that game on TV because the bathroom sink is dripping and you need to replace the faucet!

the one trying to fly and looking at the camera is ms, or mr attitude, peck me this morning while I was cleaning:hmm
Lil Mr Peckerhead!
So, here are a few pics of the last hoop coop built from an old greenhouse frame, anchored down by 4' fence posts on all four corners. You can be really creative when you don't have a pile of dough to spend on materials. And I've begun throwing 13 gal trash can's full of raked leaves in for them to play in. Nothing goes to waste here. NOTHING! Remember, our winters are mostly mild here, and the coop is inside the hot wire perimeter.

The girls all use that tub to lay in. Remember in nature chickens and ducks lay on the ground, not in trees.
This is the inside of the 32' round pen.

View from the door above, from the back side below. LOL, I didn't have my phone with me this morning. There was one hen in each tub, and KE the bantam was standing right in front of one of them doing the 'egg song' as loud and long as he could. Once the hen laid the egg, and was out, he was in scratching around and sitting on the egg. That to me is just so hilarious to have roosters doing hen things.
And last, a few pics of the inside of the hoop coops.

If you can see the large nest (lower right) it's because the 4 hens that share the coop with Bandit have managed to get all of the hay from the top tier down to the bottom and shoved into one giant heap.

General Lee, TD, Corn Puff and the 6 corn kernels are in this hoop coop and thriving.

like the lay out, i'm running out of lumber so time to hit the neighbor up for scrap he's working for a fence company atm,

What auto insurance do you use? Bundled with home. I hate shopping for insurance but it's so hard to get a hold of our agent that I either want to get another agent or new company altogether. His mail box doesn't allow you to leave a message but I don't get a very quick response with texting. He hardly ever answers and his girls make so many mistakes that take a month or two to get straitened out . Im with state farm at present
In Texas I had Farm Bureau for everything.

But they didn't cover Alaska... told me to move to Country financial.

They have been great, fixed cars quickly etc. I have house, umbrella, farm, and cars with them.

There are lots of companies that would love to have your business :D Check around and get some quotes.

We get stuff from several of them regularly. We currently have Liberty Mutual for everything.

I was impressed by the Progressive guy that dealt with DD1's car when she was 2rd from the rear in a line of cars at a red light when some coming from behind wasn't paying attention. Totalled the pickup behind her, nearly totalled her car. Fortunately she was far enough back from the car in front that she just tapped them, no damage.

I could have had this over and done with as of tomorrow but now still waiting.
That is a shame! I went to the dentist for my 6 month cleaning at 10 today. Oops found a cavity WAY up in the back of my back molar, partially under the gum line.

OK so I go out to the front to schedule that repair. The lady says they have an opening at 11 the doctor asked her to fill (I guess someone cancelled), do I want to wait the 4 minutes? HECK YEAH IT DO!!!! It was a really difficult place for her to access but she got it done.

she just goes 20 years we've known each other and you still ask, I say yeah it's respectful,
I agree; you have good character Silver. Just because she will always say yes, it is just wrong to assume you have the right to sashay over and take what you want without her knowing or agreement.
