The Old Folks Home

Was a brilliant 70 here yesterday then clouds rolled in late and dumped on us. Just 46 this morning and only 56 projected for the day. Still doable! I did whip up a batch of fermented grains for the kids. Only Bonnie (my BO hen) was not impressed. I put a tray down in each free range area and heads were in it in no time. Love that circle of fluffy butts pointing in all directions.

Just one of my 'flocks'. I have 5 pens with 5 or more hens and a rooster. This one wasn't out to free range yet. They take turns outside. Bruce, Henrietta (left forground) Charlotte (right foreground, her daughter) Star and Starburst (two Black Stars) and Sweetpea (silkie x BA)

Getting all enthused about building a feeding station for the goats that will have a roof. And a creep feeder for the kids. And a hay feeder, and space to put a bale of hay in for easy feeding. Why not add another waterer?
Tomorrow i am going to cut a hole in the barn for the goat door out to the pasture, where the feeder will be.
