It's pretty bad that you have to demand treatment or go home and let your child die! So much for doctors being trustworthy!

They're keeping him at least 1 more night. He had a bit more inflammation than the doctor was willing to send him home with. He ordered that they continue the IV antibiotics until late tonight, then switch to the oral antibiotic he'll be taking at home. He wants to make sure that the antibiotic they send him home with, will do the job on him.

Maybe the infection was a little more serious than they let on. Anyway, I agree that a person should not have to fight like that for life saving surgery on their child.

It's pretty bad when you do the morning stretch for a minute or so then it takes 10 or 15 to recover
