Micro and I are having a hatch along. Missed the Easter one so here we go starts the 30th.

Somebody remind me at what age chicks can go outside. We currently have lows in the low to mid 40's. Chicks in the big brooder will be 7 weeks tomorrow. They need more room to run and play!

I let King Wheaties and his gals out today. Raven and Dottie were the first to explore. After some coaxing all but Maggie came out. I was working on the other round pen and I see Margaret head out the fenced in area looking around and then towards the old place. King Wheaties went after her, but ended up just following that hard headed hen back to the old place. Then everyone followed suit. Danged.. KE and his girls were already out free ranging and I didn't want roosters fighting. I had to snatch KW up and haul him back up the hill, put him in the new round pen and close the gate. Soon enough Raven came back and wanted it.. But not the 3 others, nope! Had to catch them one by one and take them up the hill to A Barracks and shut the gate. I'll try it again in another few days, and see if the process repeats itself.
