The Old Folks Home

I wish I could talk DH into me hatching eggs in an incubator (unless one of the girls goes broody). I wish he would accept the idea of "eat the extra boys" as a way to manage the flock.

Still living vicariously through everyone else's hatches.
Does he not want to butcher?

And the three Cochin babies now have names. Warbonnet (Thanks to Silverhair67), the gals are Cherokee and Sioux! I've been to a few pow wow's in my day, and loved it!

Not raining Think I will dig in the dirt.. I lost most my strawberries in the heat wave last summer.
Need to dig out the ones I lost make room for the new ones.
I got a really good dig in! My neighbor Bernie gave me some onion plants that needed planting so that got me going. I’ll take a pic as soon as I get the energy to go back out!

I will have lots coming up soon.

He told me upfront that he will have no part in killing (or eating) any of the chickens. He is plenty happy to eat eggs, however. Even though he has eaten fresh chicken and said there is no comparison to store bought. I've never had home raised chicken.

I would be the one to cull and butcher, but he'd rather it didn't happen.
