Waiting on rain, the humidity is terrible. I thought I could hand raise A cockeral and he'd be a gentle rooster. The more I read on the rooster threads, The more I think nature may win after all. I really don't look forward to culling roosters

I find the rooster thing hugely genetic.

I cull hard for personality. As a result, I have great roosters.

I am considering buying a mature roo from someone. She says he has never challenged her. This gives me hope for getting a nice guy. My roo died a few months ago, and I miss seeing him with the girls, miss hearing him crow. But I don't miss him. He was a butthead.

Understand had like 3 before I raised Smudge. He was just 3 days old nope not one photo..
He tried one time to challenge, I held him down that time.
He has never challenged again. He will come up beside me and sit.

We're a few degrees cooler than it has been, but still not comfortable.
Trying to clean up the house, but even thinking about it makes me tired. Neighbor coming for supper tonight, so i need to cook.
