The Old Folks Home

Very impressive, BarnyardChaos. I've had a bit of brain fog lately and cannot recall much of what I've done all day, let alone memorialize it. I did yard work in the morning and spent the afternoon recuperating. I was so wiped that I handed my grocery list and coupon card to DH and told him to go fetch. He did fairly well following directions, but of course there were deviations and substitutions along the way. The way of men gone shopping, right?
Might need to have an indoor day today as I'm *painfully* aware I don't have the strength, ability nor stamina like I had in my 30's or even 40's. But we soldier on....
Peep, my minister's wife used to say 'what don't hurt don't work'. She was only in her late 50s at the time and I in my late 20s but boy do I understand what she was talking about now.

I have been using an on line shopping service that my favorite grocery store started about 6 months before Covid hit. You order your groceries on line and a guest shopper employee fills your order for you. She or he texts questions for you while they are filling your order but they by and by do a GREAT job. All we have to do is drive up to Kirksville and pick it up. Even if the pandemic hadn't hit, I would be using the service. I've found that the huge super stores like HyVee and Walmart just wear me out when I go in to shop and have to walk all over God's half acre to find everything I need. My joints just don't take the abuse any more and like you my stamina USED to be fantastic. Now it's Okay, I washed the dishes....I need a break.

Nobody said growing old was going to be easy but it is better than the alternative.
