The Old Folks Home

Hi guys! I'm still old! How about you?

Not aging gracefully and I'd act my age but I've never been this old before.

I have more projects than I know what to do with. Since I have the common sense God gave a duck I keep adding more to the pile.

@CapricornFarm and @getaclue how are you feeling? I've spent the last week with my digestive system giving me fits again. Doctor says I must eat fiber. Well my body has a different idea about it and it ain't what he says to do. The end result is the chronic misery rearing it's head. So much for the diet. Feeling better today though so hoping to get some outside work done this weekend.

I am feeling tired again. Next visit to the rheumatologist i will be tested for other tick borne diseases.

I know that Lyme dusease can cause allergy to certain types of meat. It's called Alpha Gal. Plus it just doesn't taste as good.
I lost the normal taste of fresh beef, pork, and poultry. No matter how cooked. It's starting to come back if cooked certain ways now. Things need to be hot and spicy. Cured meats such as ham and corned beef are not a problem. I didn't seem to have an allergy but rather the taste of them all was like they were made of talcum powder.

Yeah, you might want to get tested for tick borne diseases.

I'm sorry to hear that @CapricornFarm.

I got bit by a Lone Star tick earlier in the spring. We didn't find it until it had burrowed in so we had a heck of a time getting it out.

A week later I was feeling pretty nasty. Didn't figure out what was going on until the brain fog set in then I ran for my bottle of Minocycline and started taking it. I only had enough for 6 days so I went to my Doctor to see if he wanted me to take it longer. I was starting to feel better so he said to do a wait and see but he thought maybe my body was trying to fight off what ever it had given me. I asked him what he thought I had and he said it was hard to say but it had probably passed on some sort of bacterial infection in me.

Round three of tick born illness for me. We saw a tide of Lone Star ticks here this spring and summer, the ticks that cause Alpha Gal syndrome. Great. We also have Black Legged ticks showing up which are active all year round. Peachy.

There is another tick showing up in the southern part of the state that is coming from one of the south or south eastern parts of the country. Can't remember what they called it but it has it's own fun and games infections that it is passing on.

God I hate ticks.

@LTAY1946 I agree. Get tested. If your doctor isn't Lyme fluent, find one who is.

Just read an article about Alpha Gal showing up in the gelatin derivatives used to make vaccines coming from tick-infested cattle and the uptick (no pun intended) in Alpha Gal syndrome cases therefrom that have no tick bite origin. Swell. Just swell...

Attached article because I'm not explaining it very clearly... Lots of misplaced modifiers happening tonight here. (After dinner, after wine...yada yada)
