The Old Folks Home

My former dog trainer posted something about this the other day from AKC or somewhere but supposedly if you take a dogs poop and bury it in the hole they are digging then cover it up with just an inch or two of dirt, they won't dig there.
I do this to get rid of moles. Doggy doo placed in the front of their opening in the ground. Works! They leave after you've dropped some in a couple of holes.

Dang, our dogs go poop in the farmer's fields either side of us, never in the yard so I'd have to watch where they went and take a shovel with to try find it again. I want to try it on chipmunk holes, but then I'd take all the fun out of it for our two cats that lay there stalking those holes.

Old Folk thrills…..my mum, planted more than 20 years ago and moved twice, is getting ready to bloom!

Good morning OF

I only have one or two chipmunks and I kinda enjoy watching them. For us they do no damage of any kind that I know of. I have no dogs or cats to bother them.
Agree! They are fun to watch. However, about two years ago someone told them all to come here because our yard and woods were crawling with them. They even had a path into the coop. We set a live trap there and caught dozens that hubby would haul miles away. When our border collie caught on, she started doing coop checks. Then we got two barn cats, and that did it, but there are about two dozen holes around here the remaining few still use. We know because we fill them up with gravel, and a week later will see it's open again right next to it. They are persistent little stinkers! 🤷‍♀️
