The Old Folks Home

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS3.jpg

I can only say I knew why when I was a kid. Our driveway was 1/8th mile long, and my sisters and I are of those that either had to wait for the bus in the dark or come home in the dark. The next day it was either fall back or jump ahead and voila, we were in the light again. There aren't street lights out in the country, but where we lived, there wasn't a chance of perverts bothering us either.

With today's technology, kids mostly have cellphones and solar lights could be put out at the bus stops. They didn't have those when I was a kid.

Propper ventilation is a must!
Tell me about it! He's been remodeling the kitchen for two years so there is no hood. He's supposed to, when doing ANY cooking or baking, turn on the bathroom fan, shut my office door, put the drape over the brooder, and open two windows even if it's -20F. I have two macaw parrots in my office and eight one-week-old silkies in the living room brooder.

When I came running out of the bedroom, he was running around doing everything after the fact and apologizing so I couldn't get too upset. We've only had these parrots for 20 years. Rules are the same for them as baby chicks.
