The Old Folks Home

My understanding is that 1-2 lbs per week is about what you can safely lose without causing major disruption.
That's what I've heard/read too. When I was seriously dieting (I was 50+ pounds overweight), I'd have weeks where I lost 1-2 pounds, then a week when I didn't lose anything. I learned that I had to REALLY work that next week, not to give up. I was usually rewarded with 2-4 pounds lost the next week, a lot of it water.

I've read that you body will replace fat with water, as a "placeholder" while it adjusts to the loss. Then, a few days to a week later, it will shed the water.

I know when I'm shedding water. Oh, my! I need to stay near a bathroom!

Good morning, OF. Have to go to town to make a deposit for the beagle club. I'll also go to TSC - full of anticipation.
I need to get some chicken feed and hay from TSC tomorrow.

Started the GOLO plan (as seen on TV) on Sept 12 and as of today (Nov 20) I am down 27 pounds. BUT I got some bad news: During my Dexa scan they measured me and I've shrunk. No longer am I at 5'4" but 5' 2.75" which means I'm further back on attaining my "adequate" BMI for surgery per insurance mandates. Bah humbug!

However, I am loving the way my body is morphing. I have cheekbones again. Once too-tight tops now hang correctly. I've lost so many inches that I have to hike my favorite jeans up to my bra line to make them fit (so, yeah, they do not fit.) It's like wearing denim Spanx. :D
That’s fantastic! Denim Spanx…omg :gig

All’s well here! Blood sugar was better than it’s been so that’s a plus! How about you?
That’s good!!! I’m good too, thanks!!! My blood sugar has been good too. Not the lowest it’s ever been but pretty low. And the program is going well.
