I'm getting sleepy now but can't take the last round of meds before 9:30. Need to go and take a look at the little ones in the sun room one more time and make sure they have clean water and feed for the night. The big light is off but the heat lamp is still on. They are feathered out yet. They are the cutest bunch I've ever hatched.

They have formed a huddle and are ready to sleep. I woke them up. At least some of them that were asleep. I checked feed and water and turned out their light.

They are especially cute with some being really bigger than the ones that hatched a week later. The seem to protect them rather than pick on them. I hope to get some pictures of a big one by a little one soon.

The two bigger chicks were born a week and a half before the little one.

They heard me coming and herded her into the corner to stand guard. You can see her beak poking out.

I hope my two broody pullets hatch at least a couple each. They are so young to be broody but I think it will be good for them to get the practice in. Experience should be good for them too.

Ok. Six english muffin recipes. They all had:

1 1/4 c liquid. Some called for milk, some for water, one demanded a combination, and one called for water and powdered milk.
2 T butter or oil
1 t salt
1 T sugar or honey

Variations:

3 recipes call for 4 c flour, the others call for 2 3/4 c.
Most recipes call for 1 T yeast, except for the 24 hour no-knead version which calls for 1 t.

And they bear no relation to the recipes I found before.
