The Old Folks Home

I grew up in S Central FL and it's a wonder we didn't have cold days. You know those days the temps dropped to below 40°. When the temps dropped below 50° I think that's when the girls got to wear jeans instead of dresses. Me Mrs. would know the facts on that one.
I lived up North..Fernandina Beach.

Temperature had to be below 40 for us to get to wear any type of pants to school. That didn't happen very often. I was glad it wasn't a long walk to school.

I used to love going to Fernandina Beach, until they got so many people there.
I loved to fish on the jetty at the Sebastian Inlet. The the state took it over as a state park and renigged on the deal to keep it free. The last time I went to fish there it was standing room only. I'll never go back. The people on the jetty don't even know what they are fishing for. The just put bait on a hook and throw it out.

I'm going to chill and let me bones work on getting connected again. The more rest they get the sooner I can toss board and chickens around again.
Taking a day off every now and then is a good idea. After basically taking yesterday off, my body is being much kinder to me today.

I remember catching what we called, pig fish. 😄

OMG, I don't even want to go there. I was on Facebook changing my "chicks for sale" posts and saw all the whiners and misguided people about why their chickens weren't laying. A couple are even back to "Are you feeding them TSC food?" I was laughing at some of those replies.
All but one of my hens have closed up shop for the winter, which I don't mind as I call winter their Refresh/Reset season. Time to worm them, dust them, fatten them up for next season's production. Yeah, it feels like sacrilege having to buy eggs, but -- as we all know -- downtime is valuable for all living things.

Hey, fellow Old Folks! In one hour and 8 minutes, I'll hit the Big 7-0! Still a spring chicken compared to some but kind of a landmark birthday to me... How did this happen, anyway???:idunno:old😊
Happy belated birthday! No doubt your longevity is due to all the pure thoughts. ;)
