The Old Folks Home

Remember me saying I was baking cookies? I started with Christmas trees. They looked great, but were hard as rocks. I have a new King Arthur Flour pan, and it's thick. I thought it might be that it was so thick, and heavy that it might not be heating up well, in the short time it takes to bake cookies. I played with temps. Nope. I ordered the cheap Wilton pans, since that's what I've used before. Nope. Still rock hard. I used up all the flour in the canister, and poured a new bag in it. Yesterday, I decided to give it one more try. They came out perfect.

Come to find out, Dd #1 had put the previous flour in the canister. She put All Purpose flour in it, instead of Self-Rising. Sheesh! 200 bad cookies, all because she put in the wrong flour. Had I known, I have the baking powder, and could have resolved the problem, but I DIDN'T know. That never dawned on me. I spent yesterday, and today baking cookies. Tomorrow morning, I'll make up the flow icing, and start getting them decorated. Decorating them is the time consuming part.

Solar panels and Tesla Powerwalls here. The only way we know the power went out is the clock on the wall oven resets, it isn't backed up by the Powerwalls given it isn't a critical need and eats a lot of power.

Apparently we had a power outage Monday afternoon while I was out shopping. Probably related to the semi that managed to go off the 2 lane road (on a straight section) 1 mile from my house. We did have snow. Police had the road blocked. 13 mile "detour" to get home. Which is about the distance from the store to home without the detour.

Plenty of people here older than you who will agree with @CapricornFarm's comment. Maybe you are old enough to listen but not so old that it is too late ;) My younger daughter, at 28, hasn't yet managed the first part. Not that she has bad life habits but hasn't been to a dentist or had a physical in many years.
Meanwhile, I feel like I’m always at the doctor 🤣😭

My wife bake a loaf of bread last week and has no clue what went wrong or maybe right. It was so tough the chickens didn't want it. With a mold and that recipe it could be used to make cheap new tires for the garden tractor.

Turns out the handle of the Jack did that. And the one in the trunk you could turn by hand if you know how. And I found out I was supposed to call the insurance company about getting someone to help change the tire. Hubby said he told me, but my memory stinks.
Sometimes the tool that works the spare can also remove the lug nuts.

I hope you get the tire changed soon!
