The Old Folks Home

Had an interesting conversation with my ortho guy when I asked about the osteoporosis that the Dexa-scan revealed. Should I up calcium in my diet? "That's not as important as getting enough Vitamin D which helps to synthesize calcium." So now I take a calcium pill and a high-dose D3.
My teeth enamel is good, but that's attributed to the fluoride drops had as a kid. I ran a lot of high fevers and the dentist was worried about pitting in the deep crevices of my molars. Mom didn't allow us to have soft drinks nor sugary snacks at home. Didn't have any cavities until I was 30+ years old!

Have we talked about? https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/hea...arathyroidism?,in the bloodstream when needed.

The most common cause is a benign tumor.

Good morning Old Folks.
Have not had thyroid in like 10 years.
Nuked it.
I take a little pill that makes it right.
hyperparathyroidism disease is not from the thyroid. the para thyroid glands are different glands that are para to the thyroid. There are four of them and usually one has a tumor that constantly releases the hormone if you have it.

It is easy to tell. If blood calcium is 10 or higher, there is over a 90% chance of a tumor.

My DW hat one for over 12 years that they did not treat. She has lifetime health issues from it too.

I am sorry to hear that Graves is what I had.
My DW finally went to UC San Francisco to have the tumor removed. She has kidney damage and likely other organ damage from having too much calcium in the blood.

Some organs become calcified, especially the kidney.
