The Old Folks Home

Good morning, OF. Is today a true day of rest?
YES, in a way...

Happily, I find pulling buckets of rampant spring weeds out of my flower beds restful...truly, I do. For me it's a kind of nature immersion/meditation, great way to get off the stress & worry treadmill for a few hours. Instead I'm smiling as I see blooming crocus and primroses, bulb points pushing up through the soft, moist soil and tender new leaves on the clematis vines - spring always comes and life goes on!

[Plus, the hens love fresh weed piles and I can throw soggy tennis balls for the pups. Win-win!]

Dirt therapy. I love it.

Right now, the ground is too wet/hard/frozen (or all three, in various spots) to do my "hands and knees" weeding, which is exactly what it sounds like. Doing that while listening/singing along to my MP3 player is pretty much nirvana for me.

But right now I can go out and pull buckets of weeds on the south sides of the beds and give the chickens "green snack."

Good morning OF. Up and at em....

Good morning sitting here with my coffee old coop is gone.
All my vine plants will be up there now.
For this morning I let the dogs out then went did the same for the birds.
Little scratch given to the birds.
Now my time for coffee.
