The Old Folks Home

I can see that happening! Heat does get to me more at my age.
I went out too late in morning yesterday to do work in my front garden. Whew. I really don't do heat well either. Ruined my whole day. Messes with my Vestibular problem. As we get older we learn real quick how to - minimize - certain things, like time doing some things. I stayed out way too long.

This is one of my worst fears of falling now. No falls since last December that I can remember but there was about one a month before then. One resulted in broken ribs and the other fall made them worse. I'm really glad he didn't break his hips. If I fall again it may be broken hips. The upside to that is at least I get new ones for the wore out ones I have now. Bone on bone for the last year at least. My doc told me to get my joint replacements done before I turn 80. I'm running out of time to get them all fixed up.
Can you get the replacement before you break a bone?

Well, crap. The CT scan did show a break in my neighbor's hip. He gets a partial hip replacement today.

I hate to say it, but I think the writing is on the wall. They may have to move somewhere less remote, closer to where their kids/family are available. Somewhere where there are not so many stairs and so much to care for outside.

The outside stuff is the joy of living out here.
moving to a place that is better for mobility is likely the best thing to do!

Most of us will get to that point eventually.

I need to dig up a sprinkler because it has sunk down too deeply in the lawn. I have been putting it off until the black gnats are gone but will need to get to it tomorrow...in the morning before it gets over 100F.

I was not a good candidate for replacements when they found them bone on bone because of other health related issues. I think two of them have been fixed so now ins may let me get them soon. I'm going to make an appointment with the ortho doc to see if there is anything else I can do or have to do before the will replace them. If I can't get them now I want another shot down in the joints to lube them up. That type of injection has lasted about a year this first time.

A year is a good long time!
